Introduction
ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) has been offering first-class qualifications in accounting and finance for over 100 years. Today, ACCA is known as the global body for professional accountants with 140,000 members and 404,000 students in over 170 countries.
ACCA is a globally recognised accounting qualification that enables you to develop professionalism and ethics in accounting as a result of commonly set standards. Upon successful completion, you will gain professional status and be permitted to use the ‘ACCA’ letters after your name. Overall, you will be fully prepared to apply your knowledge and skills within the areas of accounting, finance and management.
ACCA Syllabus
You are required to pass 14 papers and demonstrate knowledge of professional ethics and three years relevant work experience to achieve the ACCA qualification. You may, however, be able to benefit from exemptions depending on your previous academic qualifications.
ACCA is divided into two levels, Fundamental (9 papers) and Professional (5 papers).

Entry Requirements
· Candidates must be aged 18 or above to register
· 2 A Levels and 3 GCSEs in five separate subjects including English and Mathematics, or equivalent
· Students who are at least 21 years old may register through the Mature Student Entry Route
· IELTS 5.0/TOEFL IBT 65 is recommended (if English is not your first language)

BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting
ACCA offers you the opportunity to become professionally qualified and gain a BSc (Hons) degree in Applied Accounting awarded by Oxford Brookes University, ranked amongst the top 50 universities in the UK. Achieving both qualifications is ideal if you are looking to enhance your career prospects and demand with employers.
Award Criteria
To be awarded the BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting you must:
· opt into the degree scheme before passing any of the fundamental papers F7, F8 and F9.
· pass all fundamental papers (F1 - F9).
· complete the ethics module.
· pass the Research and Analysis Project (RAP).
The Research and Analysis Project
This assignment is designed and assessed by Oxford Brookes University and comprises a 6,500 word Research Report (RR) and a 2,000 word Skills and Learning Statement (SLS). You also need to present your findings to your project mentor.

You may decide to study for ACCA as a professional qualification, or combine your ACCA studies with gaining a BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting – both options are available.
